Coachable vs compliant? What's the difference? I posted about this topic a while ago (click here to see it) and have been asked to do a follow-up, so here we go. The goal is to grow athletes to be creative leaders, thinkers, and problem solvers. If that's true, the coach needs to shift from the SAGE ON THE STAGE to the GUIDE ON THE SIDE. Easier said than done. This 4 minute video will give you some ideas:

- Why do coaches confuse coachable with compliant? - How can coaches create a coachable environment? - How can coaches step to the side so their athletes can step up?

Every new experience has something valuable to teach us. The more willing we are to listen, explore, and adapt, the more we grow. Climbing Mera Peak reflects this perfectly. Each stage of the ascent brings fresh lessons, and with the support of experienced guides alongside your own determination, the journey becomes as rewarding as reaching the summit itself.

I really like this perspective. True growth comes from staying open to new ideas, asking questions, and learning from every experience. It is much like the Annapurna Circuit Trek, where each day on the trail teaches something new, and combining your guide's knowledge with your own judgment makes the adventure even more meaningful.

Great insight! Being coachable is about learning, thinking, and growing—not just following instructions. It reminds me of the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, where listening to your guide while making your own decisions on the trail helps build confidence and creates a more rewarding journey.

The idea of being coachable instead of just compliant really stands out in personal growth. I remember learning this during a tough time and chose I had do my Nutrition exam help through support so I could focus on improving myself. It helped me grow better. This post reminds me that mindset plays a big role in success. Nice post, it make me smile.
